Bernadette has worked in both Canberra and Melbourne the fashion capital of Australia. Bernadette has participated in runway fashion shoots, competitions and fashion shows. Her family lives in Cairns and she has decided to settle here. She loves to help people find their individual style from classical work to modern styling. Bernadette enjoys socializing and is looking forward to meeting new clients who are looking for a hairdresser that is here to stay!

With more than 15 years experience, seven with The Hair Studio, Michael loves making people look and feel wonderful every day. Before The Hair Studio, Michael spent several years with L'oreal as a colour technical advisor: he also specialises in chemical permanent straightening and hair extensions. Although he loves all facets of hairdressing, Michael particularly enjoys working with clients over many years and watching their styles and colours evolve. When not working, Michael can be found spending time with his children or indulging in motocross and road bike racing.

A first year apprentice with The Hair Studio, April-Skye looks after all of the clients at our Earlville salon, from the moment they walk in the door until the second they leave us for the day. Dedicated to providing a quality experience for all The Hair Studio clientele; April-Skye enjoys being able to create different styles and find the right style for each person. April-Skye has undertaken training with Tigi and Redken and when not at the salon, she is passionate about exercise, dancing and music.

William Harris has recently joined the team of talented stylist at The Hair Studio on Grafton.

William brings to the salon 20 years of talent and experience gained in leading Canberra salons, including his own at the prestigious Canberra Hyatt Hotel, with national and international celebrities and royalty among his clients.

For the client who is looking for a stylist to create a contemporary image, you will find in William a sympathetic, understanding and caring hairdresser. William specializes in Long hair work and enjoys helping brides find their special hairdo for their most important day. William will give his clients a look of contemporary elegance if that is their wish and the younger clients will find a receptive understanding of the fashion trends demanded by them as well.

Hope has been with The Hair Studio for almost two years as an apprentice hairdresser. Having successfully completed a colour spectrum course in Redken in 2006, Hope enjoys highlighting blondes and men’s cutting and styling. Hope loves working with clients, trying new colours and styles and when she is not at the salon, she enjoys socialising with friends, shopping, spending time at the beach and having the occasional game of laser tag.

Kirsten loves hairdressing because: “I can be creative and I get a thrill when I make clients happy.” With nearly two years experience at The Hair Studio, Kirsten enjoys cutting and colouring and recently entered the Redekn Red Raw Colour Competition. A previous GHD Retail Sales Award winner, Kirsten enjoys shopping, watching movies and spending time with her puppy dog.

Veronica has been with The Hair Studio for approximately two years, she loves her job because: “it allows me to express my creativity and it’s not just a trade but a hobby”. A ribbon-winner in the 2007 Fashion Bash Hair Competition, Veronica has undertaken several training courses and seminars with Redken, GHD and Tigi. Specialising in creative colouring and blow drying, Veronica loves to go to the beach and wakeboarding in her spare time. Veronica also helped backstage at the Hair Expo with Rodney Cutler.

As many happy local clients will attest too, Ayako is experienced in Japanese chemical straightening. A master in straightening unruly hair, one of the secrets of Ayako’s success is her Mucota hair straightening, imported from Japan. Another talent is the creation of beautiful wedding styles.

Funky cutting, foils and colour corrections are just some of Lisa’s hairdressing strengths, she also: “enjoys making customers feel great about themselves when walking out of the salon”. Having spent time at Bentley’s of Canberra, Lisa has been with The Hair Studio for approximately 18 months and said: “I love all aspects of hairdressing, especially the cutting and colour outlooks”. Lisa has undertaken several training courses covering topics such as colours, cutting, design and the salon’s GHD expert, which included international trends and fashion forecasts.

Jessica says she feels good when she can make other people feel good: “I love to be able to give people a new look that makes them feel good (then I feel good)”. With over three years at The Hair Studio, Jessica specialises in colouring, men’s cuts (short), blow-drys and cutting and styling long hair (especially blondes). With a background in Retail, Jessica enjoys the challenge of always learning new things in hairdressing. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys shopping and spending time with friends.

With over 13 years experience, Evon is one of the most experienced nail technicians in Cairns, so there is little wonder that she has a large and loyal clientele. As well as giving free advice on all nail problems, Evon can assist you with acrylic and gel nails, nail art, manicures and pedicures: she also does waxing, from eyebrows to brazilians.

Allira is a second year apprentice with The Hair Studio; she looks after all our clients, from the moment they walk in the door until the second they leave us for the day. Dedicated to providing a quality experience for all The Hair Studio clientele, Allira enjoys being able to create different styles and find the right style for each person. When she is not at work, Allira is a cheerleader for the Cairns Taipans.

Hailey Woodland has joined our team after working in the Gold Coast. She is passionate about looking after her clients image.

Hailey loves to help people change their image from long to short and their colours across the whole spectrum. Hailey believes that the difference between a good hairdresser and a great one is the care factor and the ability to listen and interpret an individuals needs.

Hailey is looking forward to meeting Cairns locals in our Grafton St salon who are looking for a new hairdresser.
