Hailing from Spain, Esteban has been with The Hair Studio for 10 years. Specialising in colours, razor cuts, (ghd) and creative up-styling, Esteban thinks hairdressing is an art. “The most important part of what we do is the creation — to make people happy about themselves and how they look.” Prior to The Hair Studio, Esteban worked in Adelaide and owned his own salon in Spain. As well as managing the Grafton Street salon, Esteban enjoys canoeing, painting, art and socialising with friends.

Co-manager of the Earlville and Lake Street salons, Karla specialises in beautiful, artistic colour work; she listens to her clients and enjoys interacting with them. Karla lists her hairdressing strengths as being creative with colour, cutting, straightening long hair, blow waves, up-styles and make-up. As well as having attended courses through Tigi, Redken, Matrix and Wella, Karla has participated in an Advanced Colour Correction Techniques seminar and came 3rd in the North Queensland Hairdressing Awards. With a strong base of loyal clients, Karla is dedicated to her work and being a fit, healthy and happy person.

Steven 'Zemmy' Williams is the new Manager of the Lake St salon. A fashionable, trend following stylist with more than 6 years experience, Steven creates styles that suit the individual for their hair and lifestyle. "I have a deep focus on problem solving. I am an expert in fixing home hair care mistakes and relish the chance to do creative up-styling and colouring." Steven enjoys doing complete make overs and competition work and enjoys nature in his spare time.

With more than 18 years experience, ten with The Hair Studio, Michael loves making people look and feel wonderful every day. Before The Hair Studio, Michael spent several years with L'oreal as a colour technical advisor: he also specialises in chemical permanent straightening and hair extensions. Although he loves all facets of hairdressing, Michael particularly enjoys working with clients over many years and watching their styles and colours evolve. When not working, Michael can be found spending time with his children or indulging in motocross and road bike racing.

Veronica has been with The Hair Studio for nearly five years, she loves her job because: “it allows me to express my creativity and it’s not just a trade but a hobby”. A ribbon-winner in the 2007 Fashion Bash Hair Competition, Veronica believes the difference between a good hairdresser and a great one, is the care factor and the ability to listen and interpret an individual's needs. Specialising in blondes, Veronica is the stylist to see if you want beautiful blonde hair. Veronica helped backstage at the Hair Expo with Rodney Cutler and has undertaken several training courses and seminars with Redken, GHD and Tigi. In her spare time, Veronica loves wakeboarding and going to the beach.

Natalie is from New Zealand where she owned a Salon before moving to Cairns 6 years ago. She has over 25 years experience in the industry. Natalie loves hairdressing because: "I really enjoy working with a client to design a look that they will love!" Natalie loves all facets of hairdressing with razor cutting and creative colouring being her favourites, Natalie currently works part-time and when she isn't working loves spending time with her young daughter and going camping.

Jasmine became a hairstylist because she is very creative and is willing to take the challenge with you, to change your appearance. She loves the amazing feeling that her and a client get when they complete a hair change. She believes her strengths in hairdressing are creative cuts. Jasmine is just about to complete her apprenticeship and loves her career.

Emily has been with The Hair Studio for three months, working through her third year apprenticeship. She enjoys cutting and styling long and short hair, creating new looks for her clients. Also likes working with colours, experimenting with different foil techniques. When not working, Emily enjoys hanging out with family and friends and going to the beaches, making the most of our tropical lifestyle.

Yer Kue loves hairdressing because: "I can be creative and I get a thrill when I make clients happy". Yer enjoys cutting and colouring and is a previous GHD Retail Sales Award winner. She was also a finalist in the Next Generation competition. Congratulations to Yer on completing her apprenticeship; she is now building a strong local following of happy clients.

Casey is the new senior stylist at the Lake Street salon. “I have been a qualified hairdresser for 8 years and I specialise in trendy unisex colour, fashion styling and blow-drying. I am a fast, fussy and fantastic hairdresser and my clients enjoy the time and attention to detail I provide. I have worked in top salons in Queensland and New South Wales, but Cairns has been my home for the last 4 years." Casey exudes positive energy and her other passion is music.

With over 15 years experience, Evon is one of the most experienced nail technicians in Cairns and has a large and loyal clientele. As well as giving free advice on all nail problems, Evon can assist with acrylic and gel nails, nail art and French manicures. In her private room at the studio, Evon pampers her guests. She specialises in unisex waxing, from eyebrows to brazilians. Evon believes in using the best wax available which is gentle on the skin and leaves a professional finish.

We would love to welcome Elle, our new Korean hair specialist. "I am fantastic with thick, coarse hair and an expert at chemical straightening and curling. I specialise in traditional Asian styles, as well as fashionable trendy funky haircuts and colours for men and women." The Hair Studio is sponsoring Elle to be in Australia: she brings expertise in Japanese Shisiedo straightening products and techniques and eyelash extensions to the Lake St salon.

Adam has moved to Cairns from Longreach, after falling in love with our tropical town on a holiday. "I am excited to join The Hair Studio team and look forward to becoming a great hairdresser under their guidance. I have always had a passion for hair and looking after people." In his spare time, Adam loves shopping and keeping up to date with fashion.
